Important     Important!! Nearly everything in the site is clickable. Lists are sortable, pictures are enlargeable, clicking names will pop-up profiles. Don't be afraid to try clicking something, I have done my best to minimize damage while maximizing interactivity.   What is this?     project.chick is an idea brought about the somewhat timeless question, "Which chick is the hottest?". This question is naturally never fully answered, as each person has their own views on what's hot and what's not. With the wonders of modern technology, we may be able to more accurately gauge who (in the popular view) is the hottest. The technique developed by Jaymz and myself to do this is rather simple. A set of 32 chicks is randomly selected from the global pool. The end user then goes through a simple bracket elimination system so that 16 chicks are left, then 8, then 4, then 2, then 1, resulting in the "hottest" chick in the set ending up on top. This bracket elimination system gives us 16+8+4+2+1 = 31 different pairs to compare per set. The power of this system is revealed when you get many users compiling many sets of compared chicks, creating the potential to have every possible combination to be evaluated by every possible user, giving an extremely accurate representation of not only individual opinion, but of the popular opinion as well.   How do I use this?     This sites main function is starting "sets" of chicks, and doing a simple bracket elimination until the set is complete. Assuming the user has already registered and logged in, the option to start a set should be readily visible in the user menu:       Once you click the set creation link, you will receive a brief confirmation and list of the pairs of chicks in the set. You may now continue to the real heart of the site: start voting!       Voting is quite simple after this. You are presented with a pair of chicks, each with their own radio button. You may click a picture of a chick to pop-up a higher resolution version for closer inspection. Once you have finished voting, simply navigate back to the top of the page and click the "Vote" button in the voting panel. [note] You do not need to vote on every pair in a session. The site will remember your choices when you next return, as illustrated: You can identify incomplete sets when the "start a set" option is instead "resume set (xx%), indicating the percentage of the set you have completeld:   What now?     So you completed a set, what to do now? Well, you have a few options at this point.. Start a new set! You're encouraged to do as many sets as humanly possible :) View the "Top Chicks" list. This is composite list of every users votes combined to tell us who is hot and who is not. View the "Top Users" list. This is a list of the most active users, and their personal hot chick. View your personal "Top Chicks" list. This is list of only your votes, the contents of which should hopefully be obvious to you.
